ELECTION BOARD
The election board is made up of three members, elected to two-year terms; the current term will expire in 2007:

• Gary Kilpatrick, Chairman
• John Carringer, Secretary
• Bob Gibson, Board Member

OBJECTIVE
The goal of the Cherokee County Board of Elections is to provide lawful, efficient, and timely execution of all elections. Our objective is to strive toward a progressive election process that meets every measure of the law as well as the demands of the 21st Century. We aim to provide fair elections for the Federal Government, the State of North Carolina, and Cherokee County.

UPCOMING ELECTIONS

General Election

• November 4th, 2008 - All Precincts Open at 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• One Stop Voting - Murphy Starts October 16th, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. and ends on November 1st, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.
• One Stop Voting - Andrews Starts October 16th, 2008 at 10:00 am and ends on November 1st, 2008 at 1:00pm.
• Registration Deadline is October 10th, 2008.
• Absentee By Mail Starts September 15th, 2008 and ends October 28th, 2008.
