Andrews-Murphy Airport
After
one year off, the Andrews-Murphy Airport will once again host the 2006
Celebration of Flight Airshow on October 21, 2006. This civilian
airshow will feature warbirds and civilian aerobatics that will both
entertain and educate all that attend.
This year's event features no less than NINE of the best aerobatic
pilots in the world today at the Andrews-Murphy Airport! Two aerobatic
teams, two female performers, and a battle of the sexes will take to the
skies above Andrews, NC.
Headlining this year's
event will be soloist Rob Holland in the Aerial Advantage Ultimate
20-300 Aerobatic aircraft. We also welcome the Swift Magic Aerobatic
Team in their two ship Globe Swift vintage aircraft and the Red Eagle
Air Sports Team in their two Eagle Talon aircraft.
Additional
performers will include Jill Long in her Pitts S2C aerobatic aircraft,
Gary Rower in his PT-17 Stearman, and Kevin Russo in his SNJ-6.
Melissa Andrzejewski will also perform in her Edge 540 as well as fly
with Rob Holland in a two ship "rivalry" aerobatic performance.
Military displays
are expected by numerous local and regional units including the North
Carolina Army National Guard in their AH-64A Apache. The United
States Coast Guard will also be providing a Search and Rescue
Demonstration in their HH-65C Dolphin during the afternoon of
activities.
Along with great local vendors and exhibitors, there will be something
for everyone at this year's Celebration of Flight.
