
Lieutenant Jerry
Crisp began his employment with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in
May 2003 and currently supervises the Investigations Division, as well
as serves as the SERT Team Commander.
Crisp began his
law enforcement career in May 1985 and has held positions such as Patrol
Officer, Detective, K-9 Officer, SWAT Member, Air Support Crew Chief and
Chief Deputy over the years with two different Sheriff’s Offices, a
Police Department and as a Federal Agent with the US TVA Police. Crisp
has over 7000 hours of law enforcement training, including SWAT, K-9 and
criminal investigations. He is a member of the National Tactical
Officers Association and a graduate of both the NC Basic Law Enforcement
Academy and the Federal Law Enforcement Academy. He was awarded the NC
Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the NC Sheriff’s Training and
Standards Commission and the NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards
Commission for his level of achievement in training hours and years of
service.
Crisp also has a distinguished military
career and has served with the US Navy Military Police in the Navy
Reserve since 1998. Crisp had the honor of supporting Operation Iraqi
Freedom when he was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq from July 2005 to April
2006. Military training and qualifications include US Navy
Master-At-Arms, Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist, Seabee Military
Instructor, US Navy Customs Inspector, US Army Military Police
Investigator, US Army SWAT, US Army Narco-Terrorism Witness Protection
and US Army Woodland Special Operations. |

Matt Kuhn began with
the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 as a uniformed patrol
officer. In early 2005 he was transferred to the Investigations
Division. Matt has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a
degree in Emergency Medicine. Matt has completed the North
Carolina Criminal Investigator program and also has specialized
training in blood stain pattern analysis, interview and
interrogation and computer forensics. He is a Nationally
Registered Paramedic and has been working in the development and
implementation of a Tactical Medicine program for the Sheriff’s
Emergency Response Team. Also a member of the Sheriff’s Emergency
Response Team, Matt has received specialized tactical training
including Clandestine Laboratory Response, he functions as a Entry
team member and a tactical medic. |

Investigator Roger L. Williams is
assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division and investigates
all manners of criminal conduct, including computer-related crimes
and crimes that are electronic in nature. His background includes
serving as a sworn law-enforcement officer in Alabama, North
Carolina and the United States Navy since 1981 and he holds a
Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Carolina
University. Williams has successfully completed and was awarded
the Criminal Investigator Certification by the North Carolina
Justice Academy. His training includes over 2000 hours of
criminal justice training, as well as over 600 hours of
specialized training in electronic crimes and computer forensics.
Williams is a member of the High Technology Crime Investigators
Association and the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against
Children Task Force. |

Milton
“Sport” Teasdale became a Detective for the Cherokee County
Sheriff’s Office in 2002, after three years as a DARE Officer and
four years with the Murphy Police Department. In addition to a
regular case load, Teasdale is in charge of evidence, AFIX
fingerprint comparison and Domestic Violence Gun Storage. His
specializations include crime scene investigation, financial
crimes, fingerprint examination and some computer forensics.
Teasdale also hopes to pursue training to become a Latent Print
Examiner. |
