Cherokee County Surplus Property
Available via the Internet
Beginning in February 2008, Cherokee County began
selling surplus property via the Internet. The property
is auctioned through an online auction service called
GovDeals. The website for GovDeals is
www.govdeals.com.
This service offers the citizens of Cherokee County an
opportunity to purchase surplus items year round as
opposed to an annual County auction.
In order to find out what surplus items Cherokee County
currently has available for auction simply visit the
GovDeals homepage and click on the link “Advanced
Search" and then select North Carolina and Cherokee
County from the list of sellers. If Cherokee County is
not listed, there are no surplus items currently
available for auction. You may want to bookmark the
website since surplus items are put up for auction as
they become available.
You must register with GovDeals in order to bid on an
item, but you do not have to register to view what items
are available. All items are sold "as is, where is" and
Cherokee County reserves the right to reject any and all
bids. Cherokee County accepts only cash and cashier
checks for payment on surplus items. If you have any
further question please email Tania Firebaugh
