Cherokee County Senior Games / SilverArts organization is part of and sanctioned by the North Carolina Senior Games State organization (NCSG) and our purpose and aim is to encourage and promote healthy, active living for seniors 50 and better.
To accomplish this, we conduct the 'Senior Games' each spring (6 weeks from April - May) along with other year-round activities. Registration for the spring games begins in March each year and the Games include:
20 various sports and games (some athletic, some for fun) where seniors participate in 5-year age divisions in the spirit of fun and friendly rivalry.
For those creative souls, we have over 40 Silver Arts competition categories in Visual, Heritage, Literary and Performing Arts to showcase your talent
These events in the spring games also qualify the medal winners to participate in the State Finals which are held in the fall each year in the Raleigh area.
