Ad Hoc Committee

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners is seeking letters of interest from persons interested in serving on an Ad Hoc Committee to discuss concerns related  to loss of telephone landlines in Cherokee County. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please submit a letter of interest, no later than August 10th at 5:00 p.m., to maria.hass@cherokeecounty-nc.gov, or via hand-delivery to Office of the Clerk to the Board, Suite 211, 75 Peachtree Street, Murphy. Letters of Interest should include name, address, and contact number, along with an introduction and statement of why you are interested in serving on the committee. The Committee will consist of five (5) community members and a county commissioner. Ideally, committee members would represent various communities across Cherokee County. Cherokee County Board of Social Services

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for appointments to the Cherokee County Board of Social Services for a three-year term. This is a volunteer board, with members receiving a small meeting stipend.  More information on the Board of Social Services can be found here. Applicants must provide proof of Cherokee County residency with application. Open until filled.


Region A Community Care Advisory Committee

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners is seeking letters of interest from persons interested in serving on the Cherokee County Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to work to maintain the spirit of residents' Bill of Rights, as well as promote community involvement and cooperation with adult care homes to ensure quality care for the elderly and disabled. The Community Advisory Committee is a volunteer committee. Involvement on the committee will require participation in various activities; including, training, visiting homes, talking with residents, conferences with administrators, quarterly committee meetings, complaint investigations, and report writing. Persons interested in serving on this committee should submit a board application to: Cherokee County Clerk to the Board, 75 Peachtree Street, Murphy, NC 28906. Applicants must provide proof of Cherokee County residency with application. Open until filled.
