INVITATION    TO   BIDDERS

Sealed bids for Armory Facility Use Conversion will be received by Mr. Randy Wiggins, County Manager up to 3:00 pm May 3, 2023 at: 75 Peachtree Street, Murphy, NC 28906.   Envelopes should be clearly marked with project name. At said place and time, all bids that have been duly received, will be publicly opened and read aloud. The owner reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities.

CHEROKEE COUNTY ARMORYFACILITY USE CONVERSION

The project includes the upfit of 6,993 sq. ft. in an existing 15,910 sq. ft. building. Bids will be received for single prime contract. All proposals shall be lump sum. All bidding contractors shall provide a bid bond.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A manditory pre-bid meeting will be held for all invited bidders on Wedensday, April 12, 2023, 1:00 PM at 118 James A. Mulkey Dr., Murphy NC 28906. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms. A tour of the spaces affected by project shall be conducted.

The County encourages participation by small, minority, disabled, and woman-owned businesses

No access to Bidders will be allowed prior to Pre-Bid Meeting. After Pre-Bid Meeting access may be arranged only though Mr. Sam Davis. Access will be denied to any contractor who tries to enter facility without prior authorization by Mr. Sam Davis.

It is the Intent to issue the notice to proceed by May 19, 2023. Construction shall be complete in no more than 180 days from that Date.

Complete plans, specifications and contract documents will be provided to bidders in electronic form by email from the Architect at .  

All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license as required under the state laws governing their respective trades.

General contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts.  

Payment will be made based on ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work.
